Tim

Some of the windows like obstruction/airspace have a close button (red x), some like 'what is here' need a simple tap elsewhere on the screen to close & some like 'radio' or PLOG needs to be closed by androids hardware back button. What do you think of giving them all the same kind of behavior. At least get rid of the android back button usage, cause some devices like my T-320 have an extra back button, others like my Asus HD7 the button is part of the screen & usually tiny. What do you think about giving all pop up  windows an defined red x button & disableing the use of the android hardware button at all?

best regards

-mike

p.s.   In the heat of the moment I experienced it more then one time exiting SD by error, hiting the back button one time to much & confirm then by accident.....

A back button of some kind is guaranteed on Android devices, which is why most windows in Android apps do not have (or need) an extra Back/Close button. We are happy with this situation.

I do not believe any windows in SkyDemon for Android should have explicit Close/Back buttons, so please do point these out to us. An exception is a track log window, since closing this is not really going back.

I think it is easier to tap somewhere on the screen to close a window, than reaching down to search for the back button. That's the case with almost all windows, except the ones to acknowledge (terrain/airspace warnings - red x) - the ones that requires input or fill the whole screen. All windows under the SD-Icon are closed by a screen tap for example, except the radio window, maybe you can give me an idea why you did this exception?

By using the back button permanently to close windows, now and than hitting it twice happens & being one false click away from disaster is unnecessary in my humble opinion. Exiting SD by moving it into the SD menu & away from the back button would give an extra level of security to avoid exiting by mistake.

The radio screen can be dismissed by tapping outside it. This is the case with all modal windows, except fullscreen ones of course, where there is no "outside" to tap.

We haven't received a lot of feedback that people are accidentally exiting SkyDemon by pressing the Back button too much - you do have to agree to the confirmation as well, in order to fully exit. And it's hardly a disaster if you do manage it, in our humble opinion.

Sorry, it´s not working on my TabPro & Asus HD7 - otherwise I wouldn´t have asked.

Unfortunately, in that case, you have your hardware vendor (or their software modifications) to blame. The ability to tap outside a modal window to dismiss it is a standard part of most Android releases (I suspect it cleverly triggers an effective Back button press). I can't think of anything we can do to help, as I don't think such taps are even delivered to us. It's a standard operating system thing.
